We are looking to hire a compassionate and dedicated Shared Living Provider (SLP) in or near Chittenden County to support an individual who wishes to live in a home setting rather than moving into a care facility. This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in offering personalized, in-home care within a supportive and respectful environment. The preferred living arrangement is a mother-in-law apartment or a private suite; however, other living situations will be considered based on suitability and accessibility.

Our client uses a power wheelchair and requires a home that is fully accessible to accommodate mobility needs safely and comfortably. The person needing support requires assistance with transfers, some personal hygiene, and meal preparation, making this role both hands-on and deeply impactful. The individual enjoys engaging in sports, watching television, and spending time outdoors when the weather permits. They prefer a quiet household with no young children and ideally without pets, although a cat or dog may be considered if the fit is right. An added detail about the individual is a fondness for Diet Coke.

As a Shared Living Provider, you will play a key role in fostering a safe, comfortable, and person-centered environment. You will work collaboratively as part of a team of existing supports, helping to encourage autonomy and respect personal preferences and choices. This role offers a unique balance between providing compassionate care and enabling the individual’s independence and lifestyle preferences.

Compensation for this position includes a tax-free Difficulty of Care stipend and a monthly taxable Room and Board payment. Additionally, there are Respite and Community Support funds available through the Vermont DS Waiver program to ensure the individual receives comprehensive care and support. Estimated total compensation ranges from $57,000 to $60,000 annually, supplemented by respite support funding. This is a full-time, in-person role requiring a deep commitment to quality care and an adaptable, empathetic approach.
