Job Description

Snowbird is a renowned resort located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah, famous for its breathtaking views and challenging mountain terrain. This unique destination boasts distinct summer and winter seasons, attracting outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers year-round. Snowbird is dedicated not only to providing extraordinary experiences for its guests but also cultivating a team of exceptional employees who share a passion for the outdoors and mountain lifestyle. The resort offers a variety of employment opportunities including full-time, part-time, seasonal, multi-seasonal, and year-round positions to accommodate diverse schedules and career goals. Employees at Snowbird enjoy working in a dynamic, energetic environment surrounded by natural beauty, while benefiting from a wealth of perks and supportive workplace policies that promote a strong community culture and professional growth.

The Host position at Snowbird is based in the SeventyOne restaurant, a venue known for its welcoming atmosphere and high-quality dining experiences. As a full-time Host, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining moments by greeting and seating guests warmly, managing the flow of visitors through efficient waitlist or reservation systems, and ensuring smooth communication between restaurant staff. This role operates on a variable shift schedule, including morning and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of the resort’s busy dining services.

This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and who are dedicated to exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include not only greeting guests using their names when possible but also reviewing table presentations before seating guests and facilitating effective resolution of any service issues. Teamwork is essential as hosts also assist bussers and servers and maintain clear communication with management to uphold high standards. The role demands a strong understanding of Snowbird’s operations and the ability to exercise good judgment within established policy guidelines without requiring constant supervision.

In addition to the rewarding experience of working at one of Utah’s premier mountain resorts, employees in this position receive a variety of benefits including ski passes, complimentary tickets, and significant discounts on lodging, dining, retail, mountain school, and daycare services at Snowbird. Health insurance options including medical, dental, vision, and accident coverage are offered depending on position eligibility. Further benefits include a 401k retirement plan, partnerships that extend discounts to other Powdr resorts, and free transportation options including shuttle services and public transit access to the resort. The position requires candidates to be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, and possess a valid Food Handler Permit. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and adapt to potential overnight stays during occasional road closures.

Snowbird is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, standing firmly against discrimination and harassment. Candidates who join the team are expected to complete a background check and adhere to professional appearance, conduct, and drug and alcohol policies. If you have a passion for delivering excellent guest experiences and want to be part of a vibrant mountain community, consider applying for this exciting host opportunity at Snowbird today.
