At MGM Resorts, the Setup Supervisor role within the Meetings & Events department at Mandalay Bay is a vital position responsible for orchestrating flawless event setups and ensuring the seamless execution of conventions, corporate meetings, and special functions hosted across its vast, state-of-the-art facilities. This hands-on leadership role requires a passionate and detail-oriented individual who can effectively supervise the setup and teardown teams to create unparalleled event environments. The Setup Supervisor leads the backstage efforts that transform client visions into tangible, awe-inspiring realities, managing spaces such as the Conference Center, Arena, Studios, Hotel ballrooms, and Pools.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in event setup and teardown
  • Preferred prior leadership experience in a high-volume setting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience in set-up and tear down functions and events, preferably in an arena or convention center environment
  • Previous experience leading a team as a manager or supervisor in a high-volume environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise the set-up and tear down of conventions, meetings and banquets in the conference center, arena, studio rooms, hotel, and pools
  • Maintain rapport with clients and Convention Services Managers to ensure client satisfaction
  • Attend pre-conference meetings on upcoming functions
  • Inventory equipment and supplies in order to maintain proper par stocks levels
  • Inform employees of management policies and ensures compliance
  • Handle employee and guest complaints with the intent of resolving situations to the satisfaction of all parties
