Job Description

GovCIO is a leading IT solutions provider specializing in delivering innovative technology and professional services to federal agencies, including the Department of Defense and the U.S. Air Force. With a strong commitment to excellence, GovCIO supports mission-critical operations through advanced cloud, software, cybersecurity, and IT modernization platforms. They emphasize innovation, workforce development, and ensuring their clients' technology environments are modern, secure, and efficient. This company fosters a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement to deliver tailored solutions that meet the federal government's stringent requirements and security standards.

The position of ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect at GovCIO is a highly specialized and critical role tasked with leading the architecture, design, and deployment of enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions for a U.S. Air Force program based at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. This is an onsite position focused on leveraging the full ServiceNow platform to design scalable, secure, and compliant solutions aligned with federal and Department of Defense (DoD) standards.

The Technical Architect will provide hands-on leadership across multiple domains of the ServiceNow ecosystem, including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), Integrated Risk Management (IRM), Security Operations (SecOps), Human Resource Service Delivery (HRSD), and the App Engine and Automation Engine. This role demands deep expertise in system and network architecture, platform governance, and user/stakeholder engagement to ensure comprehensive solutions that meet complex mission requirements.

The architect's responsibilities extend beyond technical design to include advising developers, administrators, and program managers while ensuring the solutions are scalable, well-documented, and aligned with evolving federal guidelines. They lead platform integration efforts using tools like Integration Hub, REST APIs, and custom spokes and are pivotal in maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) standards.

In addition to the technical competencies, the ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect plays a vital role in collaboration and program support — bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the technical teams. This includes supporting roadmap planning, backlog refinement, and translating business requirements into actionable architectural blueprints.

The role requires expert knowledge of network infrastructure, LAN/WAN technologies, network security, and implementation of network solutions. A solid understanding of federal network security protocols and experience with DoD environments are key. Given the sensitivity and scope of the work, a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is mandatory.

The offered salary range for this role is $190,000 to $215,000 per year, reflective of the seniority and critical nature of this position. Candidates must bring a minimum of 12 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years focused on ServiceNow platforms, architecture, and network engineering. Certifications such as DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Application Developer, and Technical Architect are strongly required.

This position suits professionals who thrive in dynamic, mission-critical environments and have a passion for shaping and leading enterprise-level ServiceNow architectures that drive operational excellence for U.S. defense programs. It offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies on high-impact projects with a dedicated government IT solutions provider.
