Job Description
Flynn Group LP is a prominent franchise operator and one of the top restaurant operators in the United States, established in 1999 by Chairman and CEO Greg Flynn. As the largest franchise operator globally and the third largest restaurant operator in the U.S., Flynn Group owns and operates over 2,600 restaurants and fitness clubs, representing brands like Applebee's, Arby's, Taco Bell, Panera, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. Their footprint spans 44 states as well as Australia, generating $4.6 billion in annual sales and employing more than 75,000 individuals. Within this vast network, Flynn Group | Arby's stands out as the largest franchisee in the Arby's system, managing more than 368 restaurants across ten states. This division alone boasts annualized sales exceeding $450 million and employs over 6,000 team members, making it a key player in the fast-food restaurant industry.
This job posting is for the role of Service Technician (Level 1 and Level 2) to support Flynn Group | Arby's operations in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Denver markets. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Facilities Service Manager. Compensation for these positions varies by level and experience, with Level 1 Technicians earning between $38 and $45 per hour and Level 2 Technicians earning between $30 and $38 per hour. The primary responsibility of these roles is to maintain and repair HVAC/R systems and commercial kitchen equipment across multiple Arby's locations, ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of the equipment.
Service Technicians are essential to the smooth operation of the restaurants, conducting installation, maintenance, and repair work following industry and warranty standards. This role requires 100 percent regional travel and a flexible schedule including varied shifts, weekends, and holidays due to the need to access sites at different times. Across both levels, duties include responding promptly to service requests, troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, inspecting equipment, handling emergency repairs, and communicating effectively with facilities leadership and restaurant management. Technicians also perform general handyman repairs and adhere strictly to safety policies and documentation requirements.
The Level 2 Service Technician focuses on diagnosing and repairing minor HVAC and cold-side kitchen equipment issues, assisting with preventative and handyman maintenance while escalating complex hot-side repairs. In contrast, the Level 1 Service Technician serves as a senior or trainer role. They handle repairs across all HVAC, hot-side, and cold-side kitchen equipment, resolve complex service challenges independently, and provide training and technical guidance to fellow technicians. They play a key role in promoting best practices and consistency throughout the technician team while also performing preventative maintenance and general repairs as necessary.
Flynn Group | Arby's offers a comprehensive benefits package to support their technicians' work and life balance, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, additional coverage like disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement plans with matching, paid time off, paid holidays, cell phone allowances, expense reimbursements, and company-provided vehicles and fuel cards. This robust package underscores Flynn Group's commitment to employee well-being and long-term career growth opportunities within the largest franchise operator in the world.
