Renowned for its commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation, the company operates through respected brands such as Trane and Thermo King. Trane Technologies integrates sustainability at the core of its business practices, emphasizing the importance of addressing global challenges with impactful and forward-thinking solutions. Joining Trane Technologies means becoming part of a mission-driven organization focused on making the world a better, more sustainable place.
The HVAC Technician Apprentice role at Trane Technologies offers an incredible opportunity for individuals willing to learn and grow within an industry leader. In this position, apprentices will work closely with experienced Service Technicians to assist in installing and repairing environmental control systems. The role involves applying knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts. It provides hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, specialized tools, and direct exposure to customer service environments. This apprenticeship opportunity is designed to build a career path through continuous training, technical support, and comprehensive development in the HVAC field.
Trane Technologies supports apprentices through a nationally recognized HVAC Technician Apprenticeship Program (TAP), a four-year initiative registered with the US Department of Labor. Participants receive paid instruction and on-the-job training, guided by dedicated mentors who help master the skills necessary for the HVAC industry. The program emphasizes safety, precision, and professional growth, granting regular pay increases and a nationally recognized credential upon completion. The role is not only about technical skills but also about developing a strong customer focus, teamwork, and safety consciousness.
The company offers a generous benefits package effective from day one, including health insurance, wellness programs, family-building benefits such as fertility coverage and adoption assistance, and a robust 401K plan with a company match. Apprentices also enjoy a predictable work schedule with overtime opportunities, premium equipment like company vehicles and specialized tools, and strong support for continued education, including tuition assistance and student debt support.
Candidates in this role must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a valid driver’s license without major traffic violations. While previous HVAC training or experience is not required, it will be considered when determining proficiency and pay levels. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment, work at heights, and perform various physical tasks. Safety is paramount, with a focus on PPE usage and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Joining Trane Technologies as an HVAC Technician Apprentice means more than a job; it’s a pathway to a rewarding career underscored by sustainability, innovation, and comprehensive support to thrive both at work and home. If you’re ready to contribute to a sustainable future and develop your technical expertise in a supportive and forward-looking environment, this is the role for you.
