Job Description

The hiring establishment is a respected apartment community dedicated to providing safe, well-maintained, and aesthetically appealing living environments for its residents as well as prospective tenants. Specializing in residential property management, this community places a high value on the preservation and upkeep of its physical facilities and grounds to ensure a welcoming atmosphere and enhanced living experience. The company embraces a proactive approach to facility maintenance by employing skilled professionals tasked with responding promptly to residents' service requests and ensuring that all apartments and common areas meet high standards of quality and safety.

This role is for a Service Technician who will play a vital part in assisting the Service Supervisor in maintaining the overall condition of the community. The Service Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, completing repair work, and addressing emergency service requests promptly and professionally. This position requires a hands-on individual who is mechanically inclined and capable of handling a variety of repair activities, including plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical, and construction-related duties. Additionally, the Service Technician will be responsible for interior painting projects within buildings and amenities, ensuring that the community remains visually appealing and functional.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical skills and customer service orientation, delivering timely repairs and maintenance services to residents while contributing ideas for service improvements. This role involves physical labor including lifting heavy objects up to 100 pounds, and the ability to work in various postures such as standing, walking, crawling, and climbing. The position demands high attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to function independently with minimal supervision. The technician may also be required to perform on-call duties to respond to emergencies or urgent repairs outside of regular working hours.

The apprenticeship or experience level for this position is flexible, with a minimum of a one-year certificate from a college or technical school or approximately two years of related experience in a similar residential apartment maintenance environment. The company values practical skills accrued through education and hands-on training, and provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

This employment opportunity offers candidates the chance to build a meaningful career in property facility maintenance within a community-oriented environment. Candidates who thrive in a physically active role, are mechanically savvy, and enjoy working with a diverse team of service professionals will find this position rewarding and aligned with their career goals.
