Job Description
Big Al's is an established entertainment destination that first opened its doors in 2006 in Vancouver, Washington. Since then, it has grown into a vibrant chain with five locations across the West Coast while maintaining its small, family-owned atmosphere. Big Al's combines the support and structure of a larger company with the personal touch and community feeling of a local business. This balance enables the company to foster a welcoming, inclusive, and team-oriented culture where employees are valued and empowered to contribute their ideas and grow professionally.
The company is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic bartenders and servers who thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment to join their dynamic workforce. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy interacting with guests, providing exceptional service, and contributing to a fun and lively atmosphere. Employees at Big Al's have the unique opportunity to work where fun and hospitality meet, delivering memorable experiences through high-quality drink crafting, attentive service, and engaging customer interactions.
As a bartender or server at Big Al's, you will be at the forefront of creating unforgettable moments for guests by sharing the excitement of the establishment's promotions and ensuring that every visitor feels welcomed and appreciated. The role involves a combination of responsibilities, including preparing and serving drinks, taking food orders, handling payments, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the venue. Whether you're mixing cocktails, managing the keg room, or supporting opening and closing procedures, your contributions help keep the fun flowing and the team running smoothly.
Big Al's offers a rewarding work environment where employees are recognized and supported through competitive hourly wages and tips. The company provides comprehensive health coverage benefits for full-time staff, including medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as supplemental life insurance and short-term disability to offer peace of mind. Additional perks such as a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid training and growth opportunities, employee recognition programs, free bowling, and pet insurance make Big Al's an employer that cares about the wellbeing and development of its team.
Importantly, Big Al's is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a workplace where different voices and perspectives are celebrated. The organization ensures equal opportunity for all applicants and employees, emphasizing a culture of respect and fairness. Accommodation for candidates with disabilities is also available, reflecting the company’s dedication to creating an accessible and supportive workplace.
This bartender and server position requires availability for weekends, nights, and holidays, and candidates must be at least 21 years of age (19 years in Idaho). A friendly, confident demeanor, the ability to manage POS systems (Toast experience is a plus), and the desire to deliver first-class guest service are essential. Staff members take pride in their teamwork, safety awareness, and the ability to upsell while maintaining an enjoyable and safe environment.
Physical demands include standing for prolonged periods, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and working in a lively, energetic setting that can occasionally be warm or humid. Big Al's provides reasonable accommodations to support employees with disabilities, ensuring all team members have the opportunity to succeed and thrive in their roles. Joining Big Al’s means becoming part of a close-knit, fun-loving team dedicated to providing exceptional entertainment experiences and having a great time while doing it.
