With a strong network of dealerships nationwide, AutoNation empowers customers to make the best decisions for their automotive needs by providing a wide variety of new and used vehicles, expert customer financing, quality parts, and expert maintenance and repair services. The company is distinguished not only for its market reach but also for its commitment to social causes, highlighted by its DRV PNK mission that has raised over $40 million to support cancer research and treatment. AutoNation's dedication extends beyond customer service to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that welcomes candidates of all backgrounds who are passionate about making a positive impact.
The Service Porter at AutoNation plays an essential role within the dealership, responsible for ensuring the maintenance and service quality of vehicles as they move through the servicing process. This position involves various day-to-day responsibilities such as assisting with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks, inspecting vehicles for stains, debris, or damages before returning the vehicle to the customer, and promptly reporting any discrepancies. The Service Porter contributes to the overall customer experience by removing protective coverings and ID tags, transporting customers and dealership personnel, and handling deliveries as required. Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of both new and used vehicles is a key part of the job, including cleaning interiors and exteriors, keeping the vehicle lot organized, and moving cars as directed to dealership display standards. The role also involves operational tasks like picking up parts from the Parts Department, testing batteries in customer vehicles while in the service drive, and assisting with shop clean-up and deliveries when needed. AutoNation values individuals who demonstrate effective communication, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work safely with machinery and vehicles. With a competitive hourly wage of $19.50, and comprehensive benefits including 401k matching, health, dental, and vision insurance, maternity benefits, and exclusive discount programs, the Service Porter position is an excellent opportunity for those interested in building a rewarding career within a leading automotive retailer. The company encourages applicants who are passionate about innovation, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference in their communities to join their dynamic team.
