Job Description

AutoNation is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, known for offering innovative products, exceptional services, and comprehensive automotive solutions. With a vast network of dealerships nationwide, AutoNation provides a wide variety of new and used vehicles, customer financing options, and expert maintenance and repair services. The company is deeply committed to empowering customers to make the best decisions for their automotive needs by delivering unparalleled quality and value across its extensive inventory and service offerings.

AutoNation’s dedication to social responsibility is demonstrated through its DRV PNK initiative, a philanthropic mission that has raised over $40 million for cancer-related research and treatment in partnership with cancer charities nationwide. This initiative exemplifies the company’s commitment to making a meaningful difference not only for its Associates and Customers but also for the broader communities it serves. AutoNation fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment where all employees are encouraged to contribute to a positive and collaborative culture. Candidates from all backgrounds who are motivated to make an impact are welcomed to join this innovative team, regardless of whether they meet every qualification listed.

The Service Porter role at AutoNation is a vital position focused on the maintenance and servicing of vehicles across dealership locations. This position involves a variety of daily tasks essential to smooth operations, including assisting with service write-ups, tagging customer vehicles, and preparing vehicles for customer return by removing protective coverings and inspecting for any damage or debris. Service Porters play a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction by ensuring that vehicles are clean, orderly, and ready for delivery. This includes cleaning the interior and exterior of both new and used vehicles, maintaining vehicle lots to dealership display standards, and managing vehicle movement within the dealership.

Additionally, the Service Porter is entrusted with responsibilities such as transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed, performing deliveries, and helping with shop clean-up and inventory movements. The role demands a safety-conscious attitude, especially when operating machinery or manual transmission vehicles, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with the team and customers alike. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, have a strong attention to detail, and are motivated to provide excellent customer service.

AutoNation offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 for this role, alongside a comprehensive benefits package designed to enrich the personal and professional lives of its employees. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans, maternity benefits, and 401k matching to support long-term financial security. There are also exclusive associate purchase and discount programs for vehicles, parts, and services, along with access to additional special offers through the YouDecide platform. By joining AutoNation as a Service Porter, individuals become part of a dynamic team driving innovation and excellence in the automotive retail industry while contributing to meaningful social causes through the DRV PNK initiative.
