Job Description
General RV is a family-owned company with a rich history dating back to 1962 when Abe Baidas transformed a Detroit gas station into a modest RV sales and manufacturing operation. Over the decades, General RV has grown to become the nation's premier RV dealer, renowned for helping millions of families experience the joys of the RV lifestyle. The company operates multiple Supercenters across the country and maintains an inspection facility in Indiana, demonstrating a strong national presence and commitment to quality service and products. Known for its deep roots in the community and a passionate team, General RV continues to innovate and expand while maintaining a heritage of family ownership and values. Since 2014, the company has been recognized by Crain's Detroit as one of Michigan's largest and fastest-growing privately held companies, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the RV industry.
The role at General RV centers around the operation of forklifts and the safe movement of new and used recreational vehicles (RVs). This position requires a responsible individual tasked with moving RVs to designated areas, handling pallets and inventory, and performing other related duties as assigned by management. The role is vital in supporting the logistics and inventory management processes, ensuring a smooth and safe operation in a fast-paced environment. The position also includes assisting other forklift operators by providing spotting support to help navigate safely, underscoring the importance of teamwork and safety. This role demands not only technical skill in operating heavy equipment but also reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to execute tasks efficiently and timely. It is ideal for someone with prior experience in forklift operation and familiarity with moving heavy trailers, who thrives in a dynamic setting and values precision and safety. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, paid vacations, and a 401k plan with company matching, reflecting General RV’s commitment to employee well-being and growth. Employment is classified under "other," and the role represents an excellent opportunity to join a respected industry leader with a longstanding tradition of excellence and family values.
