Job Description
Land Rover San Francisco, part of Swickard Auto Group, stands as a premier dealership dedicated to luxury automotive sales and exceptional hospitality. Located in San Francisco, CA, this full-time opportunity heralds an exciting entry point into the automotive industry. Swickard Auto Group, established in 2014, is renowned as one of the fastest-growing premium dealer groups in the United States, representing prestigious brands such as Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Lexus, BMW, Audi, and Volvo. Their unique philosophy centers on hospitality as the foundation of their business, emphasizing that every team member, from sales to porters, plays a pivotal role in cultivating an unparalleled guest experience. This approach transforms what might be a conventional car dealership environment into an engaging workplace where customer satisfaction and team collaboration are paramount.
Joining Land Rover San Francisco as a porter means being part of a hospitality-first team that upholds the Land Rover standard of excellence. The role focuses on the critical support functions related to vehicle management including moving, staging, and organizing both new and pre-owned vehicles to optimize lot presentation. Porters ensure that vehicles are ready and accessible for test drives, service appointments, and sales, directly contributing to a seamless customer journey. Responsibilities extend beyond basic vehicle movement to include maintaining a clean and orderly lot, fueling vehicles, and supporting general upkeep of the facility. This role demands a sharp eye for detail and pride in delivering a polished environment that always meets high standards.
Beyond the daily tasks, this position offers a genuine pathway for career growth within the automotive industry. Many of the current sales and service team members at Swickard Auto Group began their careers as porters, highlighting the company’s commitment to nurturing talent and supporting professional development. Employees receive ongoing training that equips them with the skills and knowledge to advance into leadership or specialized roles within the group. This investment in human capital underscores Swickard Auto Group’s innovative approach to automotive retail, framing the company not just as a car dealership but as a hospitality-driven career destination.
Candidates do not need prior automotive experience to apply; rather, the company values a positive attitude, reliability, and a valid driver’s license. Working outdoors in varying weather conditions and handling a range of vehicles, including those with manual transmissions, requires physical stamina and adaptability. The company welcomes individuals who take pride in their work and thrive in a team-oriented environment. Preferred candidates may bring some background as a valet, lot attendant, or porter and familiarity with luxury vehicles, although this is not mandatory.
Land Rover San Francisco prides itself on fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity and equal opportunity. Employees benefit from competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that supports health, well-being, and financial security. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance, optional disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, paid holidays, and paid time off. The culture emphasizes respect, teamwork, and growth, creating a supportive atmosphere where employees feel valued and motivated to excel.
This porter position is more than a job; it is a doorway to a rewarding career where one can build skills, engage with luxury automotive brands, and be part of a company that is redefining the automotive retail experience by prioritizing people and professionalism. Joining Land Rover San Francisco means stepping into a role that offers both responsibility and opportunity within one of the most iconic and respected luxury car brands globally.
