Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is revolutionizing the fast-food experience. Founded on the principle that food served fast does not have to compromise quality or sustainability, Chipotle emphasizes responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food with wholesome ingredients while avoiding artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands apart as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all of its stores in North America and Europe. Known for its passionate employees and innovative approach, Chipotle leads the food industry with a strong commitment to sustainability, digital advancement, and technology-driven initiatives. Their mission to cultivate a better world not only focuses on food but also supports shifting future farming and food practices, making better food accessible to everyone.

The Service Leader role at Chipotle is a dynamic leadership position that plays a critical part in delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring operational excellence in the restaurant. The primary responsibility of the Service Leader is to maintain high-quality food standards and ensure that the restaurant’s front-of-house crew delivers outstanding customer service. This involves managing a clean and organized service line, ensuring all line equipment functions properly, and actively participating in daily operations. Unlike typical fast-food roles, this position requires the Service Leader to be on their feet and engaged throughout their shift, except during breaks. When the pace slows, the Service Leader is expected to proactively identify tasks that require attention and offer support to other team members.

The role is essential for ensuring food safety by monitoring compliance with health and safety protocols, such as hand washing and glove changes, as well as overseeing temperature controls and shelf-life management. Service Leaders also take charge of resolving food quality and customer service issues, fostering a positive dining environment. They are involved in managing employee schedules, breaks, and shift meetings, and play a key role in training and developing front-of-house crew members. In addition, Service Leaders assist in conducting performance reviews and mentor future Service Leaders to ensure leadership continuity.

Administrative responsibilities include managing office paperwork, cash handling, banking activities, and maintaining office supplies and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations. This multifaceted role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow with Chipotle, as most managers began their careers as crew members. The position provides competitive pay ranging from $22.85 to $25.44 per hour, along with eligibility for digital tips and a comprehensive benefits package.
