Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain, known for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically prepared real food made with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as an innovator in the food industry, Chipotle operates restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. What sets Chipotle apart is its continued dedication to sustainable business practices, digital advancements, and providing an exceptional guest experience. As the only major restaurant company that owns and operates all of its restaurants in North America and Europe, Chipotle has cultivated a reputation for authenticity, quality, and social responsibility.
The company’s mission centers on making better food accessible to everyone while actively supporting initiatives that shape the future of farming and food. This vision is embedded in its Food With Integrity philosophy, which prioritizes ethically sourced ingredients and transparent business practices. Chipotle's workplace culture emphasizes respect, inclusivity, and fostering an environment where all associates can develop and thrive.
The Service Leader at Chipotle plays a critical role in delivering this mission by ensuring that customers receive an exceptional experience every time they visit. This position is fundamental in maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service on the restaurant line. The Service Leader supervises and supports the restaurant crew, ensuring that every team member is well trained, confident, and motivated to provide attentive service. They manage the operational flow during shifts by overseeing food preparation and presentation, resolving food quality issues, and ensuring that the restaurant environment remains clean, organized, and efficient.
This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, capable of balancing multiple responsibilities while on the floor. Service Leaders must monitor food safety practices rigorously, including hand washing protocols, glove changes, temperature controls, and adherence to safety checklists. Furthermore, they support crew development through cross-training opportunities and performance reviews, helping to cultivate the next generation of leaders within the restaurant.
In addition to frontline responsibilities, the Service Leader supports office administration functions such as cash handling, banking, managing office supplies, and maintaining equipment. This multifaceted role demands strong communication skills, leadership, attention to detail, and a dedication to Chipotle’s standards and values.
Chipotle offers a competitive compensation range from $22.85 to $25.44 per hour for this role, along with digital tips. The company provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, tuition assistance, and free meals during shifts. There are ample opportunities for advancement, with a significant percentage of management staff having risen through the ranks from Crew members. Overall, this position is ideal for passionate individuals who want to grow their career in a purpose-driven and dynamic work environment, helping to cultivate a better world one meal at a time.
