Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain known for its commitment to responsibly sourced ingredients and classically cooked meals that emphasize real food without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With a presence across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its scale that both owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe. This unique approach allows Chipotle to maintain strict quality control and deliver a consistent guest experience worldwide. Beyond serving delicious meals, Chipotle is dedicated to cultivating a better world by supporting sustainable farming practices, advancing digital and technological innovation, and fostering a strong company culture based on respect, integrity, and inclusion. As a company, Chipotle values its employees and actively promotes an environment where everyone can thrive regardless of their background or personal characteristics.

The Service Leader role at Chipotle plays a critical part in maintaining the restaurant's reputation for fast, quality, and safe food service. This position is responsible for ensuring that customers receive an outstanding dining experience by overseeing the preparation and serving of great-tasting, high-quality food. Service Leaders ensure that all food safety policies are strictly adhered to, including hand washing, glove changes, temperature monitoring, and managing food shelf lives. Furthermore, this role requires maintaining an organized and efficient line with properly functioning equipment, which supports both the crew and the customer experience. Service Leaders are hands-on team members who are active and engaged throughout their shifts; when business is slow, they identify other necessary tasks and assist their colleagues.

Additionally, Service Leaders at Chipotle are key contributors to team development. They train and cross-train front-of-house crew members, help monitor and coordinate shift changes, breaks, and meetings, and assist in performance reviews. A significant part of the role involves nurturing future leaders by providing guidance and mentorship in preparation for management responsibilities. Beyond frontline duties, Service Leaders also manage some office administration tasks such as banking, cash handling policies, paperwork, supply orders, and equipment maintenance.

Chipotle offers competitive compensation for this role with hourly wages ranging from $17.65 to $19.64 plus digital tips, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include full tuition assistance for select degrees (up to $5,250 per year), free food, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and opportunities for advancement, with 80% of managers having started as crew members. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about excellent service, food safety, and team leadership within a fast-paced and values-driven company dedicated to changing the future of fast food and food service excellence.
