Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is committed to cultivating a better world through responsible sourcing and serving real, wholesome food. Founded on the principles of fresh ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, Chipotle stands out in the fast-food industry by emphasizing quality, sustainability, and innovation. With locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, it is unique as a restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all of its restaurants in North America and Europe. Chipotle is widely recognized for its dedication to providing exceptional guest experiences and for pushing the boundaries in digital, technological advancements, and sustainable business practices to make better food accessible to everyone.
The role of a Service Leader at Chipotle is a critical element in maintaining the company’s high standards of customer service, food quality, and safety. This position involves hands-on leadership, where the Service Leader is actively engaged in the daily operations of the restaurant including preparing and serving food to ensure it meets Chipotle’s high-quality standards. The Service Leader plays a vital role in fostering a positive customer experience by supporting the restaurant crew with training, monitoring food safety protocols, and ensuring the restaurant environment is clean and organized.
As a Service Leader, you will be expected to maintain an organized and well-functioning line, troubleshoot issues related to food quality, and ensure that the crew adheres to safety and sanitation policies. This position requires a proactive approach where, during less busy times, the Service Leader evaluates other tasks that need attention and assists other team members to maintain smooth restaurant operations. Beyond food preparation and service, the Service Leader also helps develop the capabilities of front-of-house crew members through cross training and supports crew performance reviews to cultivate future leaders within the team.
This is a full-time position with a competitive base pay range between $17.45 and $19.40 per hour, supplemented by digital tips. Chipotle offers a comprehensive benefits package to its employees including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, tuition assistance for select degrees, and free food during shifts. The Service Leader role provides a unique opportunity for career advancement, with 80% of managers having started as crew members. Chipotle values diversity and inclusion and encourages qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
The Service Leader role is physically demanding, requiring individuals to be on their feet for most of their shifts while actively managing day-to-day restaurant activities. This position also includes responsibilities such as handling office administration tasks like banking and cash handling, ordering supplies, and ensuring office equipment is functional. Adherence to Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy is essential, emphasizing the importance of food quality, safety, and responsible sourcing.
Joining Chipotle as a Service Leader means being a part of a brand that is reshaping the fast-food experience through sustainability, quality food, and a commitment to social responsibility. This is an opportunity to grow professionally in a company that prioritizes its employees and offers meaningful work in a supportive and dynamic environment.
