The company operates restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, maintaining a unique position as one of the few major restaurant companies that own and operate all their locations in North America and Europe. Chipotle is also known for its leadership in digital innovation and sustainable business practices, continuously pushing boundaries to make better food accessible for everyone.
The role of a Service Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic position central to maintaining an exceptional customer experience while upholding high standards of food safety and quality. This role requires a hands-on approach, as Service Leaders actively engage in various operational tasks while leading and supporting their team. Primarily responsible for ensuring that delicious, high-quality food is served promptly, the Service Leader also plays a crucial part in training and developing crew members, fostering a welcoming environment for both customers and staff. This position demands vigilance in food safety practices, including monitoring hand washing, glove usage, temperature controls, and adherence to daily food safety checklists.
In addition to operational duties, the Service Leader acts as a key liaison between the crew and management by assisting in performance reviews, scheduling, shift meetings, and administrative tasks such as banking and cash handling. The role requires constant readiness to assist wherever needed on the restaurant floor and maintain cleanliness and organization, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are functioning and adequately stocked. The job is physically active, with Service Leaders expected to be on their feet unless on break, demonstrating a commitment to supporting the team and customers throughout their shift.
Chipotle offers competitive compensation for the Service Leader role, with a base pay range typically between $18.80 and $20.90 per hour, complemented by digital tips. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes tuition assistance, free food, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and opportunities for career advancement. Chipotle values inclusivity and equal opportunity, fostering a workplace culture that respects and embraces diversity.
