Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a rapidly growing restaurant chain that is revolutionizing the fast-food industry by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, and real food made with wholesome ingredients. Since its inception, Chipotle has been dedicated to providing customers with a better fast-food experience, consistently emphasizing the quality, safety, and integrity of its food. Operating in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe. With a passionate team enthusiastic about delivering great guest experiences, Chipotle is an industry leader and innovator in food quality, digital service, technology, and sustainable business practices. Their commitment extends beyond quality food to include a powerful mission of cultivating a better world through food accessibility and sustainability.
The Service Leader role at Chipotle is pivotal in maintaining a positive customer experience by ensuring that all food served is safe, fresh, and of the highest quality. Service Leaders are responsible for managing the restaurant crew to guarantee excellent customer service. This position requires hands-on leadership—Service Leaders are on their feet during shifts, actively engaged in maintaining the food line, and assisting others when the restaurant is not busy. They ensure the restaurant line is clean, organized, and equipment is fully operational. In addition to managing front-of-house operations, Service Leaders also participate in monitoring food safety practices, crew break schedules, shift changes, shift meetings, and line schedules.
Additionally, Service Leaders are tasked with various administrative duties including banking, cash handling, office paperwork, and supply management which ensures smooth restaurant operations. This role involves identifying and developing future leaders by cross-training front-of-house crew and assisting with performance reviews. A deep understanding of Chipotle’s core philosophy, 'Food With Integrity,' is essential for Service Leaders, ensuring they promote and embody the company’s values on and off the floor.
This full-time role offers competitive compensation, with a base pay range of $22.85 to $25.44 per hour, plus the opportunity to earn digital tips. Chipotle supports its employees with a robust benefits package that includes tuition assistance (covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year), free meals, medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and advancement opportunities. Most managers at Chipotle started as Crew members, underscoring the company’s commitment to career growth and internal promotion.
At Chipotle, inclusivity and equal opportunity employment are fundamental. The company fosters a respectful, diverse workplace where all employees can thrive regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status. Chipotle also provides reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities.
Joining Chipotle as a Service Leader means being part of a fast-paced, food-driven culture that encourages growth, leadership, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service while supporting a greater mission to cultivate a better world through food.
