Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain with a strong commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food that prioritizes wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a leader and innovator in the food industry, Chipotle operates restaurants across North America and Europe, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike many large fast-food chains, Chipotle owns and operates all its locations, ensuring high standards and consistent quality control throughout its operations. Known for its dedication to a Food With Integrity philosophy, the company emphasizes sustainability, digital innovation, and inclusive business practices to cultivate a better world by making better food accessible to everyone.
Chipotle is not just another fast-food chain; it’s revolutionizing the fast food experience with a focus on quality and ethical sourcing. The company fosters a work culture that champions respect, diversity, and career development, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds to join its team. With a strong emphasis on employee growth, Chipotle offers exceptional opportunities for advancement, with 80 percent of managers having started their career as crew members, highlighting the company’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting from within.
The Service Leader position at Chipotle is a critical role responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience by maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and service. Service Leaders oversee the preparation and serving of food to deliver a great tasting, high-quality product that aligns with Chipotle's brand promise. They manage restaurant crew training and development, ensuring that team members are well-equipped to provide excellent customer service. Service Leaders maintain the cleanliness and organization of the food preparation line and ensure all food safety protocols are strictly adhered to, including monitoring handwashing, glove changes, and temperature control on the line.
This role demands hands-on involvement, requiring Service Leaders to be actively engaged on the restaurant floor, supporting the crew and stepping in to assist with various tasks as needed. Service Leaders are also involved in resolving food quality issues, managing crew breaks and shift changes, conducting shift meetings, and overseeing line schedules. Additionally, they play a key part in developing future leaders through training and performance reviews while assisting with key administrative tasks such as banking, cash handling policies, office paperwork, and inventory management.
Essential qualifications include a high school diploma and previous restaurant experience, with a clear understanding of Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy. Candidates must be knowledgeable in cash handling procedures, food safety standards, and health department regulations. Proficiency in the primary language of the work location is necessary to communicate effectively with the team and customers. Chipotle values team members who are proactive, organized, and passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience while contributing to the brand’s mission to make better food accessible to all.
Working as a Service Leader offers numerous benefits, including competitive compensation, free food, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, digital tips, and tuition assistance that covers 100% for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of an influential company that is shaping the future of fast food and making a positive impact on food culture globally. By joining Chipotle, candidates become part of a forward-thinking and values-driven team committed to inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation in the food service industry.
