The role of Service Leader at Chipotle is pivotal in maintaining a positive customer experience by ensuring the preparation and serving of safe, high-quality food. This position requires dedication to food safety, excellent customer service, and efficient restaurant management. Service Leaders are responsible for leading and training the restaurant crew, ensuring all team members deliver outstanding service while upholding Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy. The role demands an active presence on the floor, requiring Service Leaders to be on their feet during their shifts, except during breaks, and proactively assist with various restaurant tasks when not busy. This hands-on leadership position also involves monitoring equipment and supplies, managing crew schedules and breaks, handling cash and banking policies, and supporting crew performance reviews and development. Service Leaders play a critical role in developing future leadership within the company by fostering growth, cross-training staff, and supporting a team-oriented environment.

As a Service Leader, you will be intimately involved in upholding food safety standards by ensuring proper hand washing and glove changes, monitoring line temperatures and shelf lives, and following daily food safety checklists. You will also help resolve any food quality or customer service issues, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for guests. Additionally, office duties such as handling paperwork, overseeing office supplies, and ensuring all office equipment functions correctly will form part of your responsibilities. This position is more than just a supervisory role; it is a comprehensive leadership opportunity that blends operational efficiency with a passion for excellent food and customer care, aligning closely with Chipotle’s values and commitment to sustainability and community.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • restaurant experience

  • knowledge and experience of cash handling policies and procedures
  • knowledge of food safety and health department matters
  • familiarity with office paperwork
  • ability to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location

Job Duties

  • Making sure great tasting, high quality food is served
  • helping to resolve food quality issues
  • supporting food safety which includes ensuring hand washing and glove changes, monitoring time and temperature on the line, monitoring secondary shelf lives, and following daily food safety checklist and policies
  • helping to resolve customer incidents and ensuring positive customer experiences
  • monitoring crew breaks, shift changes, shift meetings, and line schedules
  • developing and cross training all front of house crew
  • assisting with crew performance reviews
  • developing future service leaders
  • assisting with miscellaneous office administration duties such as banking, cash handling policies and responsibilities, and office paperwork
  • ensuring office equipment remains in working order and ordering office supplies as necessary
  • ensuring the proper quantity of supplies are available as needed
