Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain committed to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food using wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with a mission to change the face of fast food, Chipotle has differentiated itself from typical fast-food experiences by focusing on quality, sustainability, and transparency. Operating in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is unique in that it owns and operates all of its restaurants across North America and Europe. The company prides itself on innovation in digital technology and sustainable business practices, making it a leader in the food industry with a dedication to providing a great guest experience.
Chipotle’s corporate culture is defined by its Food With Integrity philosophy, which emphasizes responsible sourcing of ingredients, supporting local farmers, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Employees at Chipotle are passionate about this mission and play a critical role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service in every restaurant.
The role of the Service Leader at Chipotle is a pivotal position designed to ensure that customers receive a positive dining experience through safe and quality food preparation and service. Service Leaders are responsible for overseeing restaurant crew operations, including training employees in food safety protocols and excellent customer service standards. This role demands proactive leadership; Service Leaders are hands-on, working on their feet most of the time, ensuring a clean and organized line with equipment functioning properly. When the restaurant activity slows down, they take the initiative to evaluate and complete pending tasks or assist teammates.
The Service Leader ensures that all food safety rules are adhered to, including handwashing, glove changes, adherence to time and temperature standards, and compliance with the Daily Food Safety Checklist. They actively resolve food quality issues and customer concerns to guarantee a positive dining experience. Service Leaders monitor shift breaks, schedule adherence, shift changes, and crew meetings to maintain smooth restaurant operations. Additionally, they contribute to administrative tasks such as banking, cash handling, paperwork management, and supply coordination, ensuring that the restaurant runs efficiently both on the floor and behind the scenes.
This is a full-time position with competitive hourly pay ranging from $22.85 to $25.44, supplemented by digital tips. Chipotle offers a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 annually, free meals during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and ample opportunities for career advancement, with a majority of managers having started as crew members. Chipotle cultivates an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees are respected and empowered to grow, truly making the company a people-first organization dedicated to its team’s success.
If you are passionate about food quality, sustainability, and leadership in a dynamic restaurant environment, the Service Leader role at Chipotle offers a rewarding career path marked by professional growth, excellent compensation, and the opportunity to be part of a company committed to cultivating a better world.
