Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a premier fast-casual restaurant chain known for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, and real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. Established as a visionary leader in the fast-food industry, Chipotle differentiates itself by placing high importance on sustainability, quality, and ethical business practices. Chipotle has restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The company uniquely operates and owns all its restaurants throughout North America and Europe, maintaining tight control over the quality and consistency of its offerings. This strategic ownership model contributes to the consistent dining experience and allows Chipotle to innovate rapidly in digital and sustainable practices. Chipotle’s mission to cultivate a better world goes beyond food quality, focusing on reshaping the future of farming and food access. The brand’s commitment to Food With Integrity—a philosophy emphasizing local sourcing, animal welfare, and environmental responsibility—propels its continuous efforts to support better farming practices and to offer accessible, high-quality food to a broad customer base. Chipotle also prioritizes creating an inclusive and respectful workplace where employees have the opportunity to realize their full potential. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to fair employment that embraces diversity and equal opportunity regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or any other legally protected characteristic.

The Service Leader role at Chipotle represents a vital leadership position within the restaurant environment focused on maintaining an exceptional customer experience. This role demands hands-on leadership where maintaining a positive, clean, and organized service line is crucial along with ensuring food safety and quality standards are met. Service Leaders are responsible for supporting the crew in providing excellent food and customer service while taking an active role in training and development. This role is dynamic, involving standing and engaging with staff and customers throughout the shift, and requires excellent multitasking to prioritize various duties. These include overseeing food safety protocols such as handwashing, glove changes, monitoring temperatures, and shelf lives as well as resolving customer concerns promptly and efficiently to uphold a positive dining experience. Beyond line management, Service Leaders assist with administrative duties like banking, cash handling, paperwork, and ordering office supplies. A core part of the role is developing crew members through coaching and performance reviews, fostering the next generation of leaders within the restaurant.

This position typically offers competitive base pay ranging from $18.80 to $20.90 per hour, with additional digital tips available. The role is designed for individuals passionate about food, customer service, and leadership with a desire to grow in a supportive, fast-paced environment. Chipotle offers full-time and part-time employment opportunities, each with a comprehensive benefits package encompassing medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, tuition assistance for select degrees, and unique perks such as free food. As a Service Leader, employees engage in an inspiring mission-driven workplace that is continually evolving to lead fast food in a better direction by combining quality, sustainability, technology, and outstanding customer experiences.
