The role of Service Leader at Chipotle offers a unique opportunity to be a vital part of its mission to change the face of fast food by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role is focused on ensuring positive customer experiences by overseeing food preparation and service quality, training and developing restaurant crew members, and maintaining clean and organized kitchen and dining areas. Service Leaders are integral to upholding Chipotle’s high standards by monitoring compliance with food safety protocols such as hand washing, glove changes, and temperature controls, as well as managing shift schedules and crew performance reviews.
In addition to the core responsibilities of ensuring food safety and quality, the Service Leader assists with administrative tasks such as banking, cash handling, and office management duties to support smooth restaurant operations. The position demands active engagement on the line and with customers, encouraging leadership growth within the crew, and cultivating a collaborative work environment where team members are cross-trained and continuously improving.
Chipotle offers competitive compensation for the Service Leader position, with a base pay range of $16.65 to $18.53 per hour plus eligibility for digital tips. - Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
- Knowledge and experience of cash handling policies and procedures
- Knowledge of food safety and health department matters

Job Duties
- Making sure great tasting, high quality food is served
- Helping to resolve food quality issues
- Supporting food safety which includes ensuring hand washing and glove changes, monitoring time and temperature on the line, monitoring secondary shelf lives, and ensuring the Daily Food Safety Checklist and procedures are followed
- Helping to resolve customer incidents and ensuring positive customer experiences
- Monitoring crew breaks, shift changes, shift meetings, and line schedules
- Developing and cross training all front of house crew
- Assisting with crew performance reviews and developing future service leaders
