Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a trailblazer in the fast-casual dining industry, renowned for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, high-quality food made with wholesome ingredients devoid of artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Operating across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all of its locations in both North America and Europe. This unique hands-on approach enables the company to maintain its rigorous standards for food quality and customer experience while fostering innovation and sustainability within the food service sector.

Chipotle's mission centers on cultivating a better world by transforming the conventional fast-food landscape and championing the Food With Integrity philosophy. This philosophy emphasizes transparency, sustainability, and an unwavering dedication to using ingredients that are not only flavorful but also ethically sourced. The company has established itself as a leader and innovator, integrating advanced digital tools and sustainable business practices that make its food more accessible to a diverse and growing customer base. With a culture rooted in respect, inclusivity, and opportunity, Chipotle is committed to fostering a diverse workforce where all employees can thrive and contribute to meaningful change.

The Service Leader position at Chipotle is a pivotal role that combines leadership, customer service, and operational excellence to deliver a superior dining experience. This role involves overseeing the preparation and serving of food to ensure it meets Chipotle's high standards for taste and safety. Service Leaders play an essential part in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all line equipment functions correctly, and supporting strict adherence to food safety protocols, including hand washing, glove changes, temperature monitoring, and compliance with the Daily Food Safety Checklist.

A core responsibility of the Service Leader is to foster a positive environment both for customers and crew members. This includes resolving food quality issues promptly, managing customer incidents with empathy and professionalism, and coaching crew members to enhance their performance and skills. The Service Leader is also instrumental in scheduling, monitoring crew breaks and shift changes, conducting shift meetings, and assisting with administrative duties such as banking, cash handling, and inventory management. Furthermore, this role contributes to long-term success by developing future leaders within the team through cross-training and performance reviews.

Working in this role requires physical stamina, as Service Leaders are expected to be on their feet during shifts, actively engaging with their team and customers, and stepping in to assist wherever needed. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.65 to $21.86, complemented by eligibility for digital tips and a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include tuition assistance covering select degrees, free food during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and opportunities for career advancement — with many managers at Chipotle having started their journey as Crew members.

Chipotle prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive environment free from discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. The company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the recruiting process. Joining Chipotle as a Service Leader means becoming part of a values-driven organization focused on cultivating positive change in the food industry while supporting the growth and development of its employees.
