Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned leader in the fast-casual restaurant industry, widely recognized for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with a vision to cultivate a better world, Chipotle sets itself apart from typical fast-food chains by focusing on delivering high-quality, flavorful food quickly, while actively fostering sustainable practices and supporting efforts to transform the future of farming and food systems. The company's dedication extends beyond the kitchen as it continuously strives to innovate in digital technology, sustainability, and accessibility, ensuring its offerings remain inclusive for diverse communities across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Chipotle is unique in that it owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe, which allows for stringent quality control, consistent guest experiences, and a vibrant culture driven by passionate employees. It is recognized as a people-first, values-driven company that places immense importance on fair employment, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Service Leader role at Chipotle is a vital and dynamic position that directly contributes to maintaining the high standards of food quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence that define the brand. This full-time position offers competitive compensation within the base pay range of $22.85 to $25.44 per hour, plus eligibility for digital tips. The Service Leader’s core responsibility is to ensure a positive customer experience by overseeing food preparation safety, quality control, and exceptional service from the restaurant crew. They lead by example, actively participating in the day-to-day operations on the restaurant floor, fostering a clean and organized work environment with fully functional line equipment. The role demands a proactive attitude, where the Service Leader evaluates the workflow and lends assistance wherever necessary, especially during less busy periods.

In addition to operational duties, the Service Leader supports the training and development of front-of-house crew members, including cross-training initiatives and performance evaluations. They uphold Chipotle's rigorous food safety policies such as proper hand-washing, glove changes, temperature monitoring, and completing daily food safety checklists. Ensuring adherence to cash handling procedures and assisting with banking and office administrative tasks are also essential components of the job. The Service Leader is key to resolving food quality concerns and customer incidents promptly and amicably, working to continuously enhance the guest experience. Beyond immediate responsibilities, this role presents opportunities for career growth, as approximately 80% of Chipotle managers began their journey as crew members. The position also provides various benefits, including tuition assistance covering up to 100% for select degrees or $5,250 annually, free meals, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and competitive compensation.

Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a company that not only values high performance and professional growth but also cares deeply about the impact it makes on communities and the environment. If you are committed to quality food, exceptional service, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace, the Service Leader role at Chipotle offers a fulfilling career path with meaningful benefits and advancement potential.
