Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a pioneering leader in the fast-casual dining industry committed to cultivating a better world through responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made from wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with a mission to transform the typical fast-food experience, Chipotle emphasizes food with integrity, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. Operating across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is unique among its peers as it owns and operates all of its restaurants in North America and Europe, maintaining direct control over quality and service standards.
The company is renowned for its dedication to fostering a positive impact on the planet by supporting sustainable farming and advocating for future food systems that prioritize environmentally responsible practices. Chipotle is also recognized for its innovation in embracing digital strategies and sustainable business models, positioning itself at the forefront of the restaurant industry’s evolution.
The role of Service Leader at Chipotle is a crucial position responsible for ensuring an outstanding customer experience by maintaining safe, high-quality food service along with exceptional crew management and training. Service Leaders are expected to be highly active during their shifts, continually assessing needs and supporting the team while adhering strictly to Chipotle’s stringent food safety and customer service policies. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, food quality, and leadership development in a fast-paced, values-driven environment.
Service Leaders oversee the restaurant line’s organization and cleanliness, ensuring all equipment functions properly and team members deliver excellent service. They take an active role in resolving food quality or customer service issues, monitor health and safety compliance strictly—including hand washing, glove changes, temperature controls, and food storage protocols—and contribute to crew scheduling, breaks, and meetings. A significant part of their responsibilities includes developing and cross-training front-of-house crew members, assisting in performance reviews, fostering future leaders, and managing various administrative tasks such as cash handling, banking duties, and inventory control.
Chipotle provides competitive compensation with a base pay range of approximately $22.85 to $25.44 per hour, supplemented by digital tips. The company strongly supports employee growth with tuition assistance programs, extensive benefits packages, and career advancement opportunities, noting that 80 percent of management started in crew positions. Additional benefits include free meals during shifts, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and holiday closures. Chipotle is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to inclusive hiring practices and providing reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Joining Chipotle as a Service Leader not only positions you in a respected role within a well-established and progressive company but also aligns you with a brand that is actively shaping the future of responsible food service and hospitality.
