Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a global leader in the fast-casual dining industry, known for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as an innovative and values-driven company that owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe. The company prides itself on cultivating a better world by advancing sustainable business practices, prioritizing digital and technological innovation, and forging meaningful connections with customers by maintaining a strong focus on food integrity and quality. Chipotle is committed to accessibility and inclusivity, striving to make its food available to everyone while fostering a diverse and respectful workplace for all employees.
The role of a Service Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic and integral position designed to maintain and elevate customer experiences through ensuring the preparation and serving of safe, high-quality food. This role requires an individual who can manage and support crew members effectively, keep the restaurant environment clean and organized, and uphold the company’s food safety policies at all times. Service Leaders are responsible for leading by example on the front lines, actively engaging with the team, and stepping in to assist with tasks when needed, thereby creating a seamless and positive dining experience for customers. This position demands stamina and proactive involvement, as Service Leaders spend most of their work time on their feet, constantly monitoring operational flow and solving problems related to food quality and customer satisfaction.
In addition to routine operational duties, Service Leaders contribute to the growth and professional development of the crew by providing training and cross-training opportunities and assisting in performance reviews and leadership development. Office-related tasks such as banking, cash handling, and managing supplies also fall within the Service Leader’s scope, requiring a balance of frontline and administrative competencies. Chipotle offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $18.80 to $20.90 per hour, supplemented by digital tips, making this a financially rewarding opportunity. Additional incentives include tuition assistance up to full coverage for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and clear pathways for career advancement with 80% of managers having started as crew members.
Chipotle is deeply committed to equity and inclusivity, being an equal opportunity employer that treats all employees with respect regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. The company’s focus on employee well-being and development is reflected in its supportive culture and comprehensive benefits. The Service Leader role not only offers the chance to be part of a fast-paced, innovative restaurant environment but also to join a brand that actively works towards shaping the future of food by fostering accountability, passion, and a collaborative spirit. Potential candidates who meet the requirements are invited to bring their enthusiasm for food safety, excellent customer service, and team leadership to Chipotle’s growing family and help continue the mission to make better food accessible to all.
