Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that has committed itself to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established with a mission to make better food accessible to everyone, Chipotle stands out in the fast-food industry by challenging the norms and embracing a culture that supports sustainable agriculture, ethical sourcing, and innovative technology. With locations not only across the United States but also in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe, which is unique for a restaurant company of its size. The company’s strong emphasis on digital innovation, sustainability, and people-first values makes it a leader within the food service industry.
The Service Leader role at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to be part of a mission-driven company that is truly transforming the traditional fast-food experience. This position primarily involves upholding an exceptional customer experience by ensuring that food is prepared and served safely and with high quality. Service Leaders play a critical role in training and developing the restaurant crew while maintaining clean and well-organized service lines with fully functional equipment. The position requires active, on-the-floor engagement, meaning Service Leaders will be on their feet during work hours except during scheduled breaks.
Beyond basic operational tasks, Service Leaders are responsible for maintaining food safety standards, supporting the resolution of food quality issues, and fostering a positive guest experience by addressing customer concerns as they arise. They also assist with managing crew schedules, breaks, and shift meetings, and carry out administrative duties such as banking, cash handling, and maintaining office supplies. The role offers plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth, including developing future leaders within the team, conducting crew performance reviews, and supporting the company’s overall mission and values.
This position offers competitive compensation in the base pay range of $19.05 to $21.19 per hour, with additional income potential through digital tips. Employees also benefit from a comprehensive suite of benefits including full tuition assistance for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals, medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, and holiday closures. Chipotle prides itself on providing a diverse and inclusive workspace where all employees are respected and given the opportunity to thrive, regardless of background or personal characteristics.
Joining Chipotle as a Service Leader offers the chance to contribute to a company that is not only a significant player in the fast-casual dining sector but also an innovator in terms of sustainable business practices and employee development. Prospective candidates who possess strong communication skills, a passion for food quality and safety, and a commitment to excellent customer service are encouraged to apply. By becoming part of the Chipotle team, you will be engaging in an evolving career journey that values growth, community impact, and the pursuit of a better world through better food.
