Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain committed to cultivating a better world through serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food prepared with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with a vision to make better food accessible to everyone, Chipotle has distinguished itself by challenging the conventions of traditional fast-food dining. Unlike typical fast-food establishments, Chipotle emphasizes high-quality food, sustainable sourcing, and social responsibility. The company operates numerous restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, proudly owning and operating all its locations in North America and Europe. Chipotle is widely recognized as an innovator in the food industry, leading advancements in digital technology, sustainable business practices, and customer experience. It fosters a people-first culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee growth opportunities. Chipotle is dedicated to fair employment practices and provides accommodations as needed to ensure all qualified candidates have an equal chance to succeed.
The Service Leader role at Chipotle is a vital position focused on ensuring a high-quality, safe, and enjoyable customer dining experience. This role is full-time and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.85 to $25.44, with additional eligibility for digital tips and comprehensive benefits. As a Service Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining the standards of food quality and safety while supporting and training the restaurant crew to deliver excellent customer service. You will oversee the cleanliness and organization of the service line, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. This role requires active participation during shifts, often involving standing and performing various tasks to support the team, unless on scheduled breaks.
In this demanding yet rewarding role, you will engage directly with the kitchen and front-of-house teams, overseeing food safety protocols such as hand washing, glove changes, and monitoring food temperatures and shelf-life. You will assist in managing crew schedules, breaks, and meetings to ensure smooth operations. A significant part of your responsibility includes resolving food quality issues and customer incidents, fostering positive experiences that align with Chipotle’s core values and Food With Integrity philosophy. As a mentor and leader, you will be involved in the development and cross-training of crew members, conducting performance reviews, and nurturing future service leaders within the company.
Beyond the direct service and operational duties, the Service Leader will also handle administrative responsibilities such as cash handling, banking procedures, ordering supplies, and maintaining office equipment. Your role will directly impact the restaurant’s efficiency and guest satisfaction, supporting Chipotle's mission to revolutionize fast food by blending fast service with exceptional food quality and community-minded practices.
Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a values-driven organization dedicated to growth, learning, and innovation. The company offers robust benefits including tuition assistance covering up to 100% for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals during shifts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and ample opportunities for career advancement, with 80% of managers having started as crew members. Chipotle’s inclusive and supportive work environment ensures every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute to a better future for food and farming.
Whether you are an experienced restaurant professional or someone looking for a meaningful opportunity to make an impact, the Service Leader position at Chipotle provides a platform to develop your skills, lead a dedicated team, and be part of a company committed to positive change and exceptional service.
