Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is revolutionizing the traditional fast-food experience. Founded on the principle of serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, Chipotle has expanded its presence across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike many other restaurant companies of its size, Chipotle owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe, emphasizing quality control and brand consistency. The company is passionate about creating a better world by promoting sustainable farming practices and food accessibility, blending innovation with a strong commitment to its Food With Integrity philosophy. Chipotle’s forward-thinking approach extends to digital advancement and technology integration to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
The Service Leader role at Chipotle is a pivotal position responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience by maintaining high food quality and safety standards. This role combines leadership with hands-on operational duties, as Service Leaders are expected to be actively engaged throughout their shifts, managing and supporting the restaurant crew. They oversee the cleanliness and organization of the service line, the proper functioning of the equipment, and ensure adherence to Chipotle’s policies and procedures. Service Leaders are deeply involved in day-to-day restaurant operations, helping to resolve customer issues, managing crew breaks and schedules, and assisting with administrative tasks such as cash handling and office supply management.
Beyond operational leadership, the Service Leader is instrumental in crew development, training front-of-house staff, conducting performance reviews, and mentoring future leaders within the restaurant. This role demands a strong understanding of food safety, health department regulations, and Chipotle’s quality standards. Candidates should bring prior restaurant experience and a high school diploma, along with the ability to effectively communicate in the primary language of the work location.
The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.75 to $23.08, with opportunities to earn digital tips and a comprehensive benefits package. Chipotle also supports employee growth through tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year and promotes career advancement within the company, evidenced by the fact that 80% of its managers began as crew members. Employee well-being is prioritized with medical, dental, and vision insurance options, paid time off, holiday closures, and free food during shifts.
Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a values-driven, people-first company committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities, and fostering a respectful workplace where individuals can thrive. As a Service Leader, you will play a critical role in shaping exceptional dining experiences and contributing to Chipotle’s mission of cultivating a better world through better food.
