Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain committed to cultivating a better world through serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, and real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With locations throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all of its locations across North America and Europe. The company has built a reputation as a leader and innovator in the food industry by continuously pushing boundaries in digital ordering, technology implementation, and sustainable business practices. Known for its purpose-driven approach, Chipotle aims to make better food accessible to everyone, while fostering a people-first culture centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The role being offered is that of a Service Leader, a critical position within Chipotle’s operations that ensures a seamless and positive customer experience. The Service Leader is tasked with maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service. This role demands hands-on leadership on the restaurant floor, ensuring that food is prepared and served to Chipotle’s exacting standards and that the crew is adequately trained to deliver excellent service. The Service Leader also plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations such as monitoring line equipment, managing crew schedules and breaks, and maintaining overall cleanliness and organization.
Beyond the operational duties, the Service Leader is also responsible for mentoring and cross-training crew members, assisting with performance evaluations, and nurturing the development of future leaders within the restaurant team. This position requires a proactive, on-the-floor presence where the leader is continually engaged in facilitating tasks that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Service Leader assists with administrative responsibilities including cash handling policies, banking procedures, and maintaining office equipment and supplies.
Chipotle offers a competitive compensation package for this role, with base pay ranging from $19.90 to $22.15 per hour, complemented by digital tips. The company further reinforces its commitment to employee growth with tuition assistance covering select degrees up to $5,250 per year, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and opportunities for advancement—highlighted by the fact that 80% of managers started out in crew positions. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food, leadership, customer service, and working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to bettering the future of food and farming. Joining Chipotle as a Service Leader means becoming part of a valued team that is dedicated to learning, evolving, and shaping the future of fast food while upholding the company’s Food With Integrity philosophy.
