Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with the mission to transform the typical fast-food experience, Chipotle stands out by prioritizing quality, sustainability, and a positive impact on food systems. With restaurants located across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle uniquely owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe, which allows it to maintain high standards and continue innovating in food, technology, and sustainable business practices. Chipotle is passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience and fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace that champions equity and celebrates inclusion at all levels.
The Service Leader role at Chipotle is vital to ensuring a seamless and positive customer experience. This position is responsible for overseeing that safe and high-quality food is prepared and served promptly while leading restaurant crew members to deliver exceptional service. Service Leaders maintain an organized and clean work environment with properly functioning equipment and play a key role in supporting food safety practices, including monitoring handwashing, glove usage, and temperature controls. Aside from managing the front-of-house team, Service Leaders also assist in crew training and development, help resolve customer incidents, and ensure smooth shift transitions. They are expected to be proactive, always looking for tasks that need attention or offering support to fellow team members when not directly engaged with customers or duties. This full-time position requires standing and being active while on the clock except during breaks.
Beyond operational responsibilities, Service Leaders contribute to office administration tasks such as cash handling, banking, maintaining office supplies, and assisting with crew performance reviews. Chipotle provides robust support and advancement opportunities for Service Leaders, including tuition assistance with 100% coverage for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals during shifts, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, digital tips, and competitive compensation. With a culture that promotes from within—80% of managers started as crew members—this opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking a meaningful career in the food service industry that aligns with values of sustainability and community impact. Chipotle offers a dynamic workplace environment where team members grow professionally while contributing to a movement that is reshaping fast food for the better.
