Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned leader in the fast-food industry committed to cultivating a better world through responsibly sourced, real food served quickly without compromising quality. Founded on the principle of Food With Integrity, Chipotle focuses on serving classically cooked dishes made from wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. The company operates across North America and Europe with restaurants in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike many fast-food chains, Chipotle owns and operates all its restaurants directly, ensuring consistent quality and a superior customer experience. The company prides itself on embracing sustainable business practices, advancing digital and technological innovations, and fostering a culture inclusive of diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels.

As a people-first company, Chipotle emphasizes not only nutritious food but also the importance of hiring world-class individuals who support its mission and values. The brand encourages growth and development within its workforce, offering opportunities for advancement to employees at all levels, with a significant majority of managers having started as crew members. Chipotle values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process for qualified applicants with disabilities.

The role of Service Leader at Chipotle is an essential position responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience through high-quality food preparation and excellent service. The Service Leader ensures that the restaurant maintains food safety standards, proper hygiene, and operational efficiency. This role requires a hands-on approach where the leader is actively involved in daily restaurant activities, including training front-of-house crew, monitoring service flow, and assisting with performance management. The Service Leader is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and organization of the line and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Managing crew breaks, shift changes, and scheduling is also part of the Service Leader’s duties, along with supporting administrative tasks such as cash handling, banking, and office management.

The position demands a proactive individual who stays engaged even during less busy periods by identifying and completing necessary tasks to support the team. Service Leaders are expected to embody Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy, ensuring that every meal served meets the company’s high standards for taste and quality. They play a key role in resolving customer incidents, supporting food safety procedures including monitoring hand washing, glove changes, time and temperature controls, and completing food safety checklists.

Chipotle offers competitive compensation for the Service Leader position, with base pay ranging approximately from $19.65 to $21.86 per hour, plus eligibility for digital tips. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, tuition assistance covering the cost of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, and free food during shifts. Chipotle is passionate about cultivating an environment where employees feel valued and supported, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the company's mission of making better food accessible to everyone and shaping the future of fast, sustainable dining.
