Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that has redefined the traditional fast-food experience by focusing on responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food made with wholesome ingredients, free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. Operating restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size that fully owns and operates all its locations across North America and Europe. With a strong commitment to innovation, digital technology integration, and sustainable business practices, Chipotle is dedicated to cultivating a better world through food and community engagement. The company prides itself on providing an exceptional guest experience, and it fosters a workplace culture rooted in diversity, equity, inclusion, and continuous personal and professional growth for its employees.
The Service Leader role at Chipotle is a pivotal position responsible for maintaining a positive customer experience by ensuring that safe and high-quality food is prepared and served efficiently. The Service Leader plays an essential part in training and supporting restaurant crew members, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the service line, and ensuring that all line equipment functions properly. This role requires a proactive approach where, during downtime, the Service Leader evaluates other tasks that need attention and assists the team accordingly. Applicants should expect to be actively working on their feet during shifts, except during breaks, showcasing stamina and a hands-on leadership style.
Duties include ensuring the quality of food served, supporting food safety protocols such as proper hand washing, glove changes, temperature monitoring, and adherence to food safety checklists. The Service Leader also plays a critical role in managing crew schedules, breaks, performance reviews, and cross-training opportunities to develop future leaders from within the team. Administrative responsibilities include overseeing cash handling policies, banking, office paperwork, and inventory management. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow within a company known for promoting from within, with 80 percent of managers having started as crew members. Chipotle offers a competitive compensation package and a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, vision insurance, tuition assistance, and paid time off.
By joining Chipotle as a Service Leader, you become part of a people-first company that values diversity and fosters an inclusive workplace culture. Chipotle is an equal opportunity employer committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities to ensure every individual has the chance to succeed and thrive within the company. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about food quality, customer service, team development, and who want to contribute to a company dedicated to making better food accessible to everyone while cultivating a better world.
