Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain that is dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made from wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded with the mission to make better food accessible to everyone, Chipotle distinguishes itself by doing things differently from typical fast-food establishments. With locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is unique in that it owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe, ensuring consistent quality and control over its food and service standards. The company is at the forefront of innovation within the food industry, emphasizing sustainable business practices, digital advancements, and technology to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency. Chipotle’s commitment to its Food With Integrity philosophy goes beyond just the food served — it extends to supporting initiatives that shift the future of farming and food sustainability, aiming to shape a better food system for all.
The Service Leader role at Chipotle represents a critical leadership position responsible for maintaining an exceptional customer experience by ensuring that safe, high-quality food is prepared and served efficiently. This position requires a hands-on approach, with Service Leaders actively working on their feet throughout their shifts, unless on break, to maintain an organized, clean, and smoothly operating service line. Service Leaders play a key role in training and developing frontline crew members and future leaders, ensuring that every team member upholds Chipotle’s high standards of food safety, customer service, and operational excellence. They are responsible for resolving food quality issues and customer concerns while assisting with scheduling, crew breaks, and shift meetings to optimize team performance and workplace harmony.
In addition to frontline leadership, Service Leaders support administrative tasks such as cash handling, banking responsibilities, and maintaining office equipment and supplies. This role demands a thorough understanding of health department regulations, food safety policies, and cash handling procedures. The Service Leader also contributes to creating a positive work environment through coaching and performance reviews, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. At Chipotle, Service Leaders not only deliver excellent food and service but also embody the brand’s values by championing diversity, equity, and inclusion within their teams.
Working as a Service Leader at Chipotle offers rewarding opportunities for personal and professional growth. The company values its employees and provides benefits such as tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free meals, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, digital tips, paid time off, holiday closures, competitive pay, and clear paths for advancement. Chipotle’s culture nurtures talent with about 80% of its managers having started as crew members, highlighting the company’s dedication to internal career development. Join Chipotle and contribute to a better, healthier fast-food experience while building your career in a dynamic, people-first company focused on sustainability, innovation, and exceptional guest engagement.
