The organization offers a comprehensive range of housing and healthcare services, including residential senior communities, home and community-based services, and permanent supportive housing targeted at the formerly homeless and disabled populations. National Church Residences is committed to enhancing the quality of life for more than 46,000 seniors through compassionate and innovative programs tailored to meet their evolving needs. Located in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, the Mechanicsburg Village community includes 50 units aimed at providing safe, comfortable, and affordable housing for older adults. It represents an integral part of the local infrastructure dedicated to senior care and service coordination.
The role of Service Coordinator at Mechanicsburg Village is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week, with competitive pay at $20.50 per hour. This position is crucial in ensuring residents not only have access to essential community resources but also enjoy an improved quality of life through coordinated programs and services. The Service Coordinator acts as a vital link between residents and community agencies, facilitating access to a broad spectrum of supportive and health-related services. This includes identifying low-cost service providers, negotiating discounts, and continuously expanding the resource directory to support residents’ needs effectively. Additionally, the role involves organizing educational events covering topics such as health care, agency support, life skills, and referral resources, reinforcing the commitment to holistic senior care.
The ideal candidate for this position holds a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field and brings at least two years of experience working in social service delivery with elderly populations or families. They should possess a strong knowledge of supportive services and external resources available in the Mechanicsburg area. Critical skills include advocacy, problem-solving, organizational ability, and excellent interpersonal communication. The Service Coordinator will engage directly with residents to assess their needs, address any concerns, assist in obtaining essential services like meals, transportation, and financial aid, and maintain comprehensive records including reporting complaints made by residents or families.
National Church Residences values a work environment that fosters respect, inclusion, and comprehensive support, reflected in their generous benefits package. This package features a healthcare flexible spending account, fertility and family building support, parental leave paid at 100% for four weeks, company-provided life and accidental death insurance, and disability coverage. Additional voluntary benefits include accident insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness coverage, and pet insurance. Flexible spending accounts are available for dependent care and transportation, with company matching contributions. Employees also gain access to well-being programs encompassing mental health, tobacco cessation, and work-life balance support, including a rewarding reimbursement system. A 3-4-5 retirement program offers immediate and increasing company funding, plus an additional match option. Tuition reimbursement and paid time off with nine paid holidays further underscore the organization’s commitment to employee well-being and development. This position requires onsite presence at Mechanicsburg Village and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds without discrimination.
