Job Description
Southwood Square is a senior apartment community comprising 57 units located in Shreveport, Louisiana. This community is managed by a dedicated team of property management professionals recognized for their unmatched expertise and commitment in the area. Southwood Square provides an affordable, comfortable, and supportive living environment tailored specifically for senior residents, making it an ideal residence where seniors can thrive in a safe, welcoming atmosphere. The property is part of National Church Residences, the nation's largest provider of affordable senior housing and health care services. National Church Residences is a trusted leader dedicated to advancing better living and care for seniors through community-focused housing and supportive services. They have a rich history of serving senior populations and are known for their comprehensive approach to senior housing which incorporates healthcare and wellness into their communities.
The role available is for a part-time Service Coordinator, working approximately 25 hours per week, at the Southwood Square community. This position offers competitive pay along with an excellent benefits package that supports employees' health and well-being. The Service Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by coordinating access to necessary services, providing advocacy, and fostering connections with community resources. This is a dynamic role that requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to organize and advocate effectively, and a genuine passion for serving the senior population. The ideal candidate will facilitate engagement programs and activities among residents, act as a liaison between the community and various service providers, and support the residents’ needs through personalized service coordination. Responsibilities also include developing a resource directory of local services, sponsoring educational events related to health care and life skills, assisting residents with accessing services such as meals, transportation, financial assistance, personal services, and monitoring resident feedback to ensure high satisfaction. This role is essential in building a supportive and empowering community where seniors feel supported in all aspects of their daily lives.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred
- Minimum two years of experience providing social services to elderly or family populations preferred
- Knowledge of supportive services and local community resources required
- Ability to advocate, organize, and problem-solve effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage relationships internally and externally
- Availability to work part-time, approximately 25 hours per week
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field preferred
- Two or more years of experience delivering social services to elderly and/or family populations preferred
- Working knowledge of supportive services and local community resources
- Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and deliver measurable results for residents
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the residents served
- Assume responsibility for coordinating programs and activities for residents
- Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with community service providers, and seek out new services available to residents
- Identify low-cost service providers and/or negotiate discounts
- Engage all residents in the building(s) to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies when necessary
- Develop a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service providers
- Sponsor educational events that include subjects relating to health care, agency support, life skills and referral sources
- Provide quality customer service to all residents, addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs
- Assist residents in acquiring and utilizing desired community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care counseling
- Monitor, document, and relay any feedback or concerns from residents and their families
- Manage relationships, both internally and externally exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills
