Job Description

Alvarado Restaurant Nation (ARN) is a well-established restaurant company known for its commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. ARN operates numerous dining establishments, each dedicated to quality, customer satisfaction, and a collaborative team environment. ARN prides itself on fostering an inclusive and accessible workplace for all employees, emphasizing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or genetic information. This commitment creates a vibrant workplace culture that embraces diversity and supports employee growth and success.

The Team Member (Service Champion) position at ARN is an hourly, non-exempt role primarily based in California, offering a competitive wage range from $16.50 to $20.25 per hour, with specific rates in Los Angeles ranging between $17.87 and $20.25 per hour. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Leader, this role does not include supervisory responsibilities but is integral to the operation's success.

As a Team Member (Service Champion), the individual plays a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and customer service. The position involves a blend of culinary preparation, workstation management, and active communication within the team to ensure a smooth and efficient service flow. Employees in this role are expected to be experts on the menu, preparing each item with precision according to exact specifications. This expertise ensures every guest receives consistent, high-quality meals that meet ARN's strict safety and quality standards.

In addition to food preparation, this role requires maintaining clean and organized workstations and equipment, including grills, fryers, and other cooking tools. The Team Member ensures all safety and quality benchmarks are met, regularly checking food temperatures and monitoring supplies to keep the line fully stocked and operational. Effective communication skills are essential, especially in coordinating between the kitchen line, front counter, and drive-thru operations using headsets to maintain a seamless guest experience.

The position demands physical endurance and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, enduring temperature variations and standing or moving for extended shifts that can last up to 12 hours. Employees must be capable of lifting weights up to 50 pounds and performing various physical tasks, including climbing stairs, balancing, and stooping, all while maintaining attentiveness to guest and team needs in a noisy environment.

ARN encourages self-starters who are solution-focused, enthusiastic, and aligned with the company’s mission and core values. Independent problem-solving skills and an action-oriented approach are highly valued. This role is not only about executing duties but also about embodying the spirit and values that make ARN a respected employer and dining destination.

The Team Member (Service Champion) position offers opportunities for career advancement within ARN owing to its supportive educational and professional environment. Additionally, eligible employees may benefit from medical insurance based on hours worked after one year, access to a 401K plan, vacation time, and sick leave as per state requirements. ARN actively supports employee well-being and professional growth, making this an attractive position for individuals passionate about hospitality and teamwork.
