The business is an equal opportunity employer that complies with all federal and local hiring regulations, including Ban the Box and Fair Chance hiring initiatives. They emphasize inclusivity and fairness throughout their recruitment process, ensuring that all applicants have an opportunity to join their team.
The Service Attendant/Busser role is a vital part of the front-of-house team. This position involves preparing and serving food items under the supervision of the café manager while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining and restroom areas. The ideal candidate will provide high levels of guest service, ensuring that each visitor’s needs are met promptly and politely. This role is dynamic and requires multitasking skills, as attendants often support multiple functions, including serving food and beverages, restocking the front-of-house areas, busing tables, and maintaining condiment stations.
The position includes responsibilities such as preparing various food items including soups, salads, desserts, wraps, and pickles, and ensuring that orders meet established specifications. Serving food to guests with a friendly and positive approach is a key aspect of the job to foster a welcoming atmosphere. Further duties involve managing the cleanliness of the dining room and restrooms to uphold hygiene standards, essential in food service environments.
Beyond the primary service duties, the role may involve acting as an expediter (expo), cashier, dishwasher, or line cook as workload demands, demonstrating the need for flexibility and teamwork. Cashier responsibilities include maintaining accurate cash flow and the integrity of financial transactions. This variety ensures that the attendant has a comprehensive understanding of the service operation and can effectively assist in different areas when necessary.
Candidates for this role are expected to possess certain certifications, such as a State Foodhandler card or ServSafe certification, as applicable. They must be able to communicate clearly in English and have computer literacy skills, specifically in operating POS (Point of Sale) systems. Basic math skills are necessary to handle transactions effectively. Personal attributes include being organized, detail-oriented, and possessing strong guest service and communication skills.
In summary, this position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment where teamwork and customer satisfaction are priorities. It is an ideal role for individuals seeking to build their experience in the food service sector, especially within a company that values high standards in food preparation, cleanliness, and service delivery. The company supports employee growth and fosters a respectful and inclusive culture, making it a rewarding workplace for candidates dedicated to excellence in hospitality.
