The role offered is a full-time housekeeping and patient support position within the CharterCARE hospital system. This position primarily focuses on maintaining cleanliness and safety in patient care areas, which is vital for infection control and patient comfort. Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting these areas regularly and after patient discharge, as well as transporting supplies from Central Services. The employee may also assist in delivering patient food trays to designated areas, transport patients and supplies when needed, and facilitate visitor and staff movements within the hospital. Through these varied duties, the role supports the overall flow of patient care in the center, ensuring the environment is welcoming and supportive for patients, visitors, and healthcare personnel. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards working with the public and hospital staff. The schedule for this position is a full-time, regular shift running from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, totaling 64 to 80 hours per pay period.
Candidates who have prior hospital experience, even briefly, and a preference for familiarity in housekeeping, janitorial, custodial services, or patient transport will find this role a good match. Job Requirements
- high school diploma preferred
- 1 to 3 months hospital setting experience preferred
- current Family and Friends CPR certification preferred
- excellent interpersonal skills
- understanding of customer service
- ability to speak read write and follow instructions in English at the fifth grade level
