The position available is for a Service Assistant who plays a vital role in maintaining the restaurant’s interior and exterior cleanliness and organization. Reporting directly to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, the Service Assistant is responsible for ensuring that dining areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly, service areas remain stocked with the necessary dishes, utensils, glassware, and pots and pans, and that the restaurant is kept orderly both in the front and back of house. This position is crucial in supporting timely guest service and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the restaurant.

The Service Assistant's duties extend beyond cleaning; they are expected to monitor restroom and hand washing station supplies every half hour to ensure a hygienic environment. Keeping the exterior curb appeal by maintaining the parking lot and surroundings free of debris also falls within their responsibilities. Additionally, the role involves cleaning and inspecting dish machines, managing proper chemical levels for dishwashing, and handling stocking deliveries. This multifunctional position requires flexibility, a proactive attitude to assist team members when needed, and adherence to Denny’s brand standards and internal policies.

Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, wiping, walking, standing for long periods, and working under varied temperature conditions, including freezers and kitchens. The Service Assistant must be able to operate safely around cleaning chemicals, observe strict food handling and health regulations, and respond effectively in a dynamic, often fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent guest service skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
