Job Description
The hiring establishment is a community-focused coffee shop and hospitality venue that emphasizes excellent customer service and smooth event execution. This organization operates coffee shops that not only serve high-quality coffee during regular business hours but also support a wide range of hospitality events including banquets, catering, and special occasions. With a reputation for creating welcoming experiences and fostering community engagement, this establishment is dedicated to maintaining exceptional standards in both its day-to-day operations and its event services. As a vibrant and dynamic venue, it offers a supportive environment for team players who enjoy multitasking and working collaboratively in a lively setting.
This position is a part-time role requiring at least 20 hours per week with specific working hours on Tuesdays from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and Sundays from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexibility is essential as the candidate must be able to assist during occasional special events beyond regular shifts. The role is integral to the smooth running of the coffee shops during services and managing inventory when necessary. Responsibilities extend to assisting with hospitality events, such as preparing and serving coffee, participating in food service during banquets, cleaning duties, and aiding with catering tasks to ensure events run seamlessly and with excellence.
A significant part of the job is supporting the team during events, whether large or small, by producing required items and stepping in when team members are off or sick to prevent disruption in service. There is also a strong emphasis on training volunteers in the coffee shop. This includes teaching them order taking, customer interaction, and drink making skills, highlighting the role's leadership aspect and its contribution to staff development. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of multitasking effectively, standing for long periods, and handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 pounds independently.
Overall, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, thrives in a bustling hospitality setting, and values being part of a team that delivers both excellent daily coffee service and memorable event experiences. The position offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to a respected local venue’s continued success while developing skills in customer service, event coordination, and volunteer mentorship.
