As a Service Advisor at VVG, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction by bridging communication between truck owners and our skilled maintenance teams. This role is critical for maintaining our high standards of service and upholding the reputation our brand has built. Service Advisors greet customers as they arrive at the maintenance area, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and conduct thorough inspections to identify and clarify vehicle problems. They check for recalls proactively and gather essential vehicle information such as mileage and VIN numbers. Your responsibilities will also include submitting warranty repair documentation, verifying warranty and service contract coverage, and preparing detailed repair orders. The role demands careful coordination to monitor repair progress, provide timely job updates, and secure necessary approvals to keep repairs on schedule. You will maintain strong customer rapport by clearly explaining estimates, service timelines, and by keeping customers informed until their vehicles are ready for pick-up. Administrative tasks will also be part of your routine on a needs basis.\n\nThis opportunity comes with competitive hourly compensation ranging from $20 to $25 based on experience, along with a bonus plan to reward your hard work. Job Requirements

  • Proven technical expertise in truck maintenance or related field
  • Strong knowledge of medium to heavy trucks and parts
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks

  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Previous experience in a similar service advisor role preferred

Job Duties

  • Greets customers upon arriving in maintenance area
  • Ascertains vehicle problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms
  • Clarifies description of problems
  • Conducts inspections
  • Proactively checks for recalls
  • Submits documentation for warranty repair orders
  • Retrieves mileage and vin numbers from vehicle
  • Checks vehicle maintenance records
  • Examines service schedules
  • Maintains customer rapport by providing explanation of estimates and daily updates
  • Calls customer when job is complete and truck is ready for pick up
  • Establishes good customer relations by providing estimates and timelines
  • Performs administrative duties on per-need basis
  • Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers
  • Explains provisions and exclusions
  • Prepares repair orders by describing symptoms, problems and causes discovered as well as repairs and service required
  • Obtains approval signatures
  • Enters repair orders into service database system and sends to estimator and dispatcher
  • Monitors repair work to ensure vehicle will be ready when promised
  • Prints warranty
  • Prints repair orders
  • Issues sublet purchase order numbers
  • Reviews jobs when completed
  • Collects payment from jobs
  • Closes jobs
