The Food Server position at V&E Restaurants plays a vital role in achieving these goals by offering prompt, courteous service that enhances each guest's visit. This role requires a high degree of attentiveness and communication skills as the server is responsible for acknowledging guests immediately, informing them about menu specials, answering questions, and ensuring orders are accurate. Food servers are expected to maintain cleanliness and organization within their stations, prepare side stations, and ensure that all dining areas are free of debris. The fast-paced nature of this role requires physical stamina, the ability to carry trays and bus tubs, and the skill to multitask efficiently during busy periods. Serving with a positive attitude and adhering to professional grooming and uniform standards are essential to meet company expectations.

Working under the supervision of the manager on duty, Food Servers at V&E Restaurants must follow assigned duties and procedures closely to support the restaurant's operational flow. They are responsible not only for direct guest interaction but also for side work that includes restocking supplies, cleaning and organizing workstations, folding napkins, and maintaining hygiene standards. The job offers an opportunity to grow within the hospitality industry while contributing actively to a team-oriented workplace.

In addition to physical and interpersonal skills, candidates must demonstrate effective communication in English, uphold a neat and professional appearance, and work well alongside both coworkers and guests. Job Requirements

  • Six months previous food server experience
  • Effective communication in English, both verbal and written
  • Present a neat and professional appearance
  • Ability to interact with guests, public and co-workers
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physical ability to move throughout the dining room
  • Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum six months previous food server experience
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to present a neat and professional appearance
  • Experience working collaboratively with team members
  • Knowledge of menu items and specials
  • Basic proficiency in operating a POS system
  • Customer service skills focused on guest satisfaction

Job Duties

  • Acknowledge customer immediately with a smile
  • Inform guests of any specials and have a full understanding of the menu to answer any questions
  • Take beverage order and serve in timely manner
  • Ensure food order is correct before ringing into pos and before serving the guests
  • Monitor tables closely and be attentive to guests' needs
  • Clear empty plates and glassware from tables and place quickly in dish pit
  • Prepare sections and side stations
  • Make sure tables are cleaned, aligned, and properly set throughout shift and station is clean and organized throughout shift
  • Prepare napkins that are uniform and up to company specifications
  • Perform assigned side work such as wiping and organizing fridges and station areas, restocking dry goods or teas, coffee, etc., folding napkins, refilling jelly and sugar caddies
  • Make sure all areas of the dining room are clean and free of debris
  • Provide additional items to customers to maximize check average, tip percentage, and company profits
  • Maintain appropriate grooming and uniform at all times
  • Follow all 4 steps of the spotlight behavior pamphlet
  • Keep hutches and pos stations clean, tidy, organized, and sanitized
