Job Description
Laurel is a beautiful full-service restaurant known for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional dining experiences. Situated in a vibrant community, Laurel prides itself on delivering high-quality food and attentive customer service to every guest who walks through its doors. The restaurant operates with a commitment to excellence, leveraging a talented team of professionals who work together to create memorable moments for patrons. Laurel offers a welcoming environment where employees are valued and encouraged to grow within their roles.
We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team in full-time AM positions. This opportunity includes full-time benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance eligibility after just 60 days of employment. Additionally, employees benefit from floating holidays and sick pay, with vacation time (40 hours) available after 90 days. Laurel emphasizes clear communication and professionalism, requiring all candidates to be over 21 and proficient in English, including speaking, reading, and writing. Applicants must also be available to work weekends and holidays, reflecting the restaurant's dynamic and customer-focused work schedule.
The role at Laurel involves performing a variety of responsibilities essential to maintaining smooth daily operations and ensuring guest satisfaction. Candidates will be expected to complete a specific list of side work duties in a timely manner and adhere to all state, federal, and local laws regarding the sale and service of food and beverage products. Maintaining proper health and safety standards is paramount, requiring vigilance in monitoring both guest and staff actions. The position also demands teamwork and communication skills, as employees will assist servers by running food and drink orders, expediting food, bussing and pre-bussing tables, setting and pre-setting tables, filling water glasses, retrieving bread, and openly communicating relevant information to the appropriate server.
Maintaining cleanliness within the restaurant, including trash removal, vacuuming, and clearing tables of food, is an essential part of the job. Employees will perform a variety of other job-related tasks as directed to support the overall operations of Laurel. This fast-paced environment requires individuals to be physically capable of standing, walking, and moving around the dining area for extended periods, sometimes exceeding 8 hours. The ability to lift and carry heavy trays, food, and beverages weighing up to 25 pounds is necessary, as is the capability to bend, squat, and reach to serve guests and retrieve items from storage. The role demands excellent physical stamina and mobility to efficiently manage high volumes of customers throughout shifts while working in conditions that may include high noise levels and busy surroundings.
Joining Laurel offers the chance to be part of a dedicated team that values hard work, communication, and providing excellent service. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced full-service restaurant and want to grow their skills in hospitality while enjoying comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.
