Cooperation with management and colleagues is crucial to maintaining a positive work environment where teamwork and mutual assistance enhance service delivery.\n\nA server in this fine dining setting also undertakes designated setup and side work tasks efficiently and timely, ensuring side stations are well stocked and maintaining cleanliness with a "clean as you go" attitude. They must demonstrate thorough product knowledge of food, liquor, and wine, including preparation and presentation standards such as portioning, garnishing, and sanitation awareness. Suggestive selling is a key component, helping guests select menu items that elevate their dining experience. Servers follow a precise sequence of service operations from greeting guests, placing orders, serving food and beverages correctly, to clearing tables and processing payments using point of sale systems. Anticipating guest needs and coordinating efforts with the team to avoid service delays is essential for delivering an exceptional dining experience consistently.\n\nAdditionally, servers maintain an orderly table environment until guest departure, ensuring comfort by refilling drinks, removing used serviceware, and cleaning any spills. Accurate sales recording, cash handling, and adherence to credit card procedures safeguard against financial loss. Compliance with laws regarding alcohol service and knowledge of emergency procedures are mandatory.
