Job Description

The Waldorf Astoria New York, an iconic landmark hotel, has undergone a transformative restoration aimed at reigniting its magnetic allure and reestablishing its position as a pinnacle of luxury hospitality in the heart of New York City. This historic hotel is renowned for seamlessly blending rich heritage with modern sophistication, offering guests an exceptional environment enriched by personalized attention known as True Waldorf Service. With 375 elegantly appointed rooms plus 375 exclusive residences, the Waldorf Astoria New York boasts 40,000 square feet of versatile event space, holistic spa and wellness programming, and partnerships with celebrity chefs that further elevate the guest experience. As a part of Hilton's prestigious portfolio of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, this establishment reflects the culture and history of its extraordinary location, presenting travelers with authentic and luxurious experiences in landmark destinations across the globe.

The role of Server - Yoshoku at the Waldorf Astoria New York is a unique opportunity to become part of a new era of luxury dining that melds traditional Japanese culinary artistry with contemporary expressions. Located through the Park Avenue entrance, the Yoshoku restaurant features an à la carte menu that reinterprets classic Japanese cuisine and offers a refined Wagashi tea service each afternoon. This server position is a union role under Local 6, requiring complete open availability, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to meeting business needs with flexibility and dedication. This role is not simply about food and beverage service; it embodies the spirit of hospitality with a focus on delivering memorable experiences, genuine warmth, and attentive care to every guest interaction.

The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of serving experience in fine dining, specifically within luxury environments known for Michelin or Forbes ratings. Knowledge and appreciation of Japanese cuisine are essential, as is the capability to maintain the highest standards of service and hospitality in a high-end setting. This position demands a personable and upbeat attitude, mastery of the menu to confidently assist guests, and the ability to manage food service stations efficiently while adhering to strict health, safety, and sanitation standards. Team members in this role must be comfortable with a schedule that varies week to week, based on seniority and business needs, with full-time hours not guaranteed initially.

At Hilton, the core values — Hospitality, Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Ownership, and a focus on the Now — define what it takes to succeed. Joining the Waldorf Astoria team means becoming part of an award-winning workplace culture recognized globally for excellence and inclusivity. Hilton invests significantly in employees’ well-being, offering exceptional benefits such as travel perks, stock purchase options, paid parental leave, and mental health resources, to support their personal and professional growth. For those passionate about creating unforgettable guest experiences and growing within a prestigious hospitality brand, the Server - Yoshoku role at Waldorf Astoria New York is an extraordinary career opportunity.
