We are currently seeking a skilled Server to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring guests receive timely and attentive service, embodying the restaurant's commitment to excellence. The Server is responsible for managing an assigned station, interacting with guests, and coordinating effectively with hosts, bussers, and kitchen staff. The position demands availability on weekends and holidays to meet peak operational demands.

As a Server, you will greet guests promptly, set up tables, take and process orders with the ability to suggest complementary menu items, and deliver beverages and meals efficiently. You will ensure that each dining experience meets the guests' expectations by checking back to address needs and resolve any issues. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in your work area, assisting colleagues when necessary, and accepting management direction to uphold safety and service standards.

Ideal candidates should have at least a minimum of two years of high school education or equivalent experience, possess strong communication and mathematical skills, and be physically capable of performing the job's demands, including fast-paced mobility and lifting moderate weights. Working in this role requires a balance of speed, accuracy, and customer service finesse, all conducted in a vibrant and occasionally noisy environment.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of high school education
  • or up to one year related experience or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • able to effectively communicate with customers or employees in small groups
  • able to perform simple math calculations
  • ability to apply common sense
  • able to exert fast-paced mobility
  • able to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • able to use hands for grasping objects and handwriting
  • able to talk and hear
  • able to reach, turn, twist, stoop, bend
  • able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • able to see objects clearly at close distance
  • available to work weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Work with a sense of urgency
  • greet guests within one minute of being seated
  • set up the table with silverware, water, and coffee
  • answer customer questions
  • take orders and use suggestive selling to recommend menu items
  • ring the check into the computer and hang the check for the kitchen
  • prepare and deliver drink orders
  • promptly carry food orders to tables without a tray
  • drop the bill when meal is complete
  • check back with customers for satisfaction and additional needs
  • remove plates and wrap-up leftovers
  • maximize each trip to the kitchen by checking other tables
  • keep up on behind-the-scenes work such as making coffee and restocking
  • assist other servers and cooks when necessary
  • finish off to-go orders
  • keep work area clean and organized
  • accept direction from managers and follow safety precautions
  • perform cleaning duties and side work as assigned
