Job Description
The Idea Collective is a dynamic hospitality group based in Dayton, Ohio, known for operating several unique and beloved dining concepts including Sueno, Tender Mercy, and Three Birds. These establishments each offer a distinct dining experience but share a commitment to exceptional service, culinary excellence, and creating memorable moments for guests. Located in a vibrant city with a growing food and beverage scene, The Idea Collective is dedicated to fostering a culture where passion for hospitality meets creativity and community engagement. The group emphasizes teamwork, growth, and ongoing education, aiming to elevate the local hospitality industry by blending innovative dining concepts with personalized service.
One of the newest ventures under The Idea Collective umbrella is Three Birds, a neighborhood diner concept crafted by renowned Chef Jorge Guzman. This eatery brings a fresh perspective to the Dayton dining community by combining relaxed fine dining with a warm, approachable atmosphere. Three Birds isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a destination where guests come for an escape, to enjoy comforting yet elevated food, and to experience the attentive care of a genuinely passionate service team. The role available with Three Birds involves joining this team of dedicated professionals who are driven by personality, passion, and the warmth necessary to create a welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate for the server position at Three Birds will be someone who understands that dining out goes beyond the food on the plate. Our servers are storytellers and experience creators who guide guests through each visit, making sure every interaction adds joy, comfort, and excitement to their day. While the technical aspects of service, such as knowing the menu, cocktails, and wine offerings, will be taught and supported through ongoing training and education, the intrinsic hospitality and desire to enhance someone’s experience must be deeply ingrained in the applicant.
Working as a server at Three Birds means embracing a style of relaxed fine dining. Employees are expected to develop a sophisticated knowledge of everything from the food’s preparation and history to the details behind our beverage program. Regular training sessions and assessments are designed to support career growth and mastery of the craft. Compensation is highly competitive, offering $35-40 per hour after tips, reflecting the value placed on skilled and passionate hospitality professionals.
This position is a unique opportunity to join a creative, supportive hospitality collective with multiple venues across Dayton. Applicants may be considered for similar roles at Sueno or Tender Mercy, depending on where openings arise. While there may not be an immediate job vacancy, submitting an application places you in consideration for exciting future opportunities across all of The Idea Collective's establishments. Join us if you are ready to be part of a team that finds joy in creating joy and is committed to delivering an extraordinary, memorable dining experience to every guest.
