At The Residence at South Windsor Farms, LCB is currently seeking part-time Servers who will play a vital role in delivering a restaurant-style dining experience for their residents. This position offers a competitive wage ranging from $17.50 to $20.50 per hour, dependent on the applicant's years of experience. The role is structured around Monday through Thursday shifts, perfect for those seeking a balanced schedule while engaging in meaningful work.
The Server role involves more than just taking and delivering meal orders; it requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about customer service and senior care. Servers at The Residence at South Windsor Farms are responsible for providing exemplary service that promotes enjoyment and satisfaction during meal times. This includes setting tables according to LCB standards, serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and sanitary dining atmosphere. The position also involves collaborating closely with the Culinary Services Director and Executive Director to ensure that the dining programs meet the tastes and preferences of the residents.
Candidates will be expected to assist with special dining events including banquets and themed meals, helping to create memorable experiences for seniors. The ability to communicate resident preferences back to the food service and dining management teams is critical to enhancing menu planning and personalized service. Moreover, servers participate actively in team meetings and work as part of a cohesive group to maintain high dining standards, fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for all residents and guests.
This role demands not only strong organizational skills and time management but also the physical ability to perform various tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and manipulating dining equipment. Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment
- visual and auditory acuity
- must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and be able to carry objects
- must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand
- must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate
- must use good body mechanics
- must be able to type and use a computer

Job Duties
- Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere
- work closely with the Culinary Services Director and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs
- set tables in accordance to LCB standards
- serve residents and guests beverages as requested
- review daily menu with residents
- take and deliver accurate meal orders to residents and guests
- remove used or soiled plates, utensils, glasses, linen from the dining room as needed
- assist with preparation and execution of dining enhancement programs
- adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices
- assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
- acquaint new residents with menus, seating, and dining options and hours when applicable
- clean and sanitize carpet, tables, chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room
- communicate resident likes and dislikes to food service director and/or dining room manager for menu planning purposes and resident satisfaction
- create a strong sense of team work and cooperation among all staff
- attend pre-meal stand up held for all dining and kitchen staff
